Who We Are Looking For
We are on the lookout for a dedicated (game) designer with a passion for problem-solving and a creative flair for design, gamification, and storytelling! Join us in the vibrant heart of Amsterdam and the idyllic Curaçao, where you’ll have the opportunity to be part of a dynamic team.
Your mission? Design a groundbreaking hybrid online/offline gaming experience for tourists through an innovative scavenger hunt app. This challenge requires a combination of thoughtful design, technical finesse, and a dose of creativity.
And here’s the intriguing part: all of this unfolds on the enchanting island of Curaçao, infused with historical and cultural treasures that serve as inspiration for your captivating narrative. An affinity for culture and history is a valuable asset in this endeavor.
What to expect?
You will take the lead in developing and validating an MVP for an app that introduces tourists to the local culture and history of Curaçao. The assignment includes the following components:
- Concept development and storytelling: Create engaging concepts and storylines that acquaint tourists with the local culture and history of Curaçao. While Ngrane possesses substantial knowledge in this area, you will also need to experience the culture and history firsthand by visiting the island.
- UX/UI Design: Collaborate with our creative team to transform your ideas into innovative design concepts and gaming elements that merge into a hybrid digital/real-life experience. All of this is presented through a user-friendly interface that not only simplifies navigation but also keeps users engaged. You will work with a white-label scavenger hunt app, and the challenge is to creatively navigate its technical limitations, requiring both technical and design solutions.
- Validation: You will facilitate a test panel to experience your product, ensuring a user-friendly way for the panel to provide feedback. The golden rule here is that only smart questions yield valuable answers.
What do you bring?
You are a third- or final-year student in a bachelor’s or master’s program in Communication and Multimedia Design (CMD) or a related field, with a focus on UX/UI design and gamification. You have a passion for storytelling, traveling, and games, and an interest in culture and history. Knowledge of design tools such as Sketch and/or Figma is a plus.
